Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) is a research center dedicated to promoting excellence in basic and applied scientific research and transferring discoveries to society and industry. In the long term, the Institute aims to positively impact the nation's economy, improve people's quality of life, and protect our planet and its resources. IIT is a foundation under private law, established in 2003 and funded mainly by the State. Its research is organized around four strategic domains: Robotics, Nanomaterials, Technologies for Life Sciences, and Computational Sciences. IIT promotes technology transfer through intellectual property strategies, patent licensing, joint projects with industrial partners, and the creation of start-ups.

JOiiNT LAB, established in 2020, is a public-private laboratory born from a partnership between IIT, Intellimech, Confindustria Bergamo, Kilometro Rosso, and the University of Bergamo. Located in the Bergamo manufacturing district, one of Europe's most competitive hubs, it transfers mature robotic technologies (TRL 7+) into real production environments, with a focus on collaborative robotics, mechatronics, and specialized professional training.

Exsensia is an innovative start-up born from the synergy between the Italian Institute of Technology and the University of Pisa. The company develops software solutions that simplify the programming, configuration, and adaptation of industrial robotic applications. Their platform enables flexible automation for machine tending, component handling, logistics, and product inspection, reducing development and integration time.

qbrobotics is an Italian Company founded in 2011 as a spin-off of the Italian Institute of Technology and the University of Pisa. The company designs and commercializes advanced robotic solutions including anthropomorphic hands, adaptive grippers, and variable stiffness actuators. The company focuses on making automation safer, more flexible, and more natural in human-machine interaction, collaborating with companies, universities, and research centers worldwide.
